Museum on Standby for Battle!

News Photo We are getting Battle ready for this year's Battlegroup North and Military Wheels and Wings Show. Weaving three different but complementary themes into one event, the show offers an exciting family day out. In this 65th Anniversary of the famous 'Dambuster' raids, the flypast by the Lancaster of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is sure to be a highlight of the show.

Visitors will be enthralled at the precision model 'wargaming', as enthusiasts stage some excellent demonstration and participation games. Traders and exhibitors from all across Yorkshire and further afield are supporting the event. Yorkshire Military Vehicle Trust have an amazing 200 historic vehicles booked into the show, making this the biggest gathering in the North of England. The spectacular line up will include tanks, along with half-tracks and a wide variety of trucks and Jeeps. There are some fascinating re-enactment groups attending, in addition to our 'home' group, the East Yorkshire Regiment Living History Group. Perhaps the icing on the cake will be flypasts from the Lancaster and Dakota of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

The event takes place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May. Gates open at 10am - 5pm. Admission: £7 Adult, £5 Senior Citizen and £4 Children, making a fantastic value for money day out. FREE car parking.
